Watchtree Cafe
Good news! We are delighted to announce that following the great success with the cafe last year, Caro Fairbairn and her volunteers from the 'Sacred Solway Church Group' will be re-opening the cafe at the beginning of the Easter holidays. It is hoped that the cafe will remain open until the late summer. There is nothing quite like a quality cup of coffee and a slice of delicious ginger cake after a stroll around Watchtree.....we'll see you soon then!
The cafe is run on a voluntary basis and last year all proceeds went towards restoration of Aikton Church - over £1300 was raised for this worthwhile cause.
Why not visit Watchtree and whilst you're here you can take one of the Sacred Solway Church Trail leaflets - the leaflet provides a fascinating insight into Solway church history and culture - did you know many churches were actually constructed from the ruins of Hadrians Wall?. Watchtree Nature Reserve is ideally located for beginning your exploration of the church trail - what are you waiting for!
