Welcome to Watchtree
Accessibility
The Watchtree website is designed to be accessible to as many users as possible regardless of cognitive or physical ability. These pages have been tested on different operating systems using popular browsers and have been designed to be read on as many browsers and assistive devices as possible (e.g. screen readers) including legacy browsers that will not support all the features of the website.
In designing this website, the approach was taken that all users should have access to the same information and any accommodation to improve different users’ experience should be added on. This differs from many websites that are intrinsically inaccessible and resort to offering alternative content, effectively discriminating against the less able.
There is much discussion among experts as to which features are required to make a website accessible. Therefore, a website which passes all the requirements of one standard will almost inevitably fail another. Furthermore, features that are considered to be aids to accessibility can create problems for some users.
This website surpasses accessibility standards required by law.
If you have any comments or suggestions which could improve the usability or accessibility of the Watchtree website or if you would like to ask questions arising from the above please email the Watchtree Webmaster.
